Sophie has received an MSc in Food Science, Nutrition & Health from ETH Zurich. She combined this strong scientific background, years of industry knowledge working at a leading FMCG company, and her entrepreneurial mindset to co-found Avea. Her goal is to bring innovative and effective supplements with a focus on ingredient synergies to the market.

Sophie’s passion for helping people achieve optimal health and well-being is what makes her thrive in her role as Chief Science Officer of Avea. Her personal interest in longevity began as she researched specific anti-ageing molecules during her studies and has since been on an active search to optimize her and her loved ones health and wellness routines.

Her scientific background and interest in health supplements and rituals allow Sophie to do the necessary scientific research while maintaining a consumer-focused approach when creating Avea’s unique formulations. Outside of work, Sophie enjoys time with her family, practices and teaches yoga, spends time in nature, and likes to cook healthy and exotic meals.

Pascal has an entrepreneurial background in fintech and foodtech, where he co-founded and built multiple companies before venturing into longevity and healthtech. His passion for extending the healthspan of as many people as possible is his core driving mission behind co-founding Avea.

With Maximon as an incubator and partner, Pascal’s mission to bring evidence-based and personalized longevity supplements to the market is being achieved even faster. Pascal works with his team to create supplements that fully align with his values -supporting everyone who wants to feel invigorated, vibrant, and youthful for as long as possible.

In his spare time, Pascal sails the seas, aspires to become a chef, explores his curiosity around blockchain technology, and practices conservation and preservation for our planet. He lives with his fiancée and their two kids. In his own words, “Spending time with friends and my growing family is the biggest joy of all.”

Teresa is passionate about marketing, innovation and wellbeing. She holds a Bsc in Finance from Bocconi University and Msc in International Business from Esade Business School.

Teresa started her career in investment banking before moving to marketing. She worked for H-farm Digital Marketing Agency and Mondadori to help Italian media companies in their digital transformation process. She then moved to Berlin where she worked for Lykon, an innovative health company, as Head of Content and then to Foodspring where she first launched the Italian and Spanish Market and then served as Global Head of Brand and Social Media.

In 2020 Teresa started her consulting agency to help funded startups in their internationalization process.

Duri has an extensive background in direct-to-consumer and e-commerce. He co-founded and led Mama's Choice, a prominent D2C brand for mothers and babies in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he served as the Co-CEO of Indonesia's largest e-commerce marketplace at the time.

Through his consulting work in health insurance and a personal health scare, Duri developed a profound interest in the field of health and its future. He came to realize that society could greatly benefit by shifting our focus towards preventing illness rather than merely treating symptoms. Duri is genuinely enthusiastic about the latest advancements in longevity research and aspires to contribute to helping people maintain their youthfulness and good health for as long as possible.

During his leisure time, Duri takes pleasure in exploring Southeast Asia, where he is currently based, and immersing himself in nature, whether it be on a snowy mountain or riding the waves on a surfboard.

Dr. Shirin Hund is a Harvard trained internal medicine physician with extensive experience working in the fields of preventative medicine and anti-ageing diagnostic technologies and treatments. She has received grants to support her interests in improving medical access and services for vulnerable patient populations and was accepted to the Harvard Macy Institute Program for Future Academic Clinician-Educators for her development of an innovative medical education curriculum. She has multiple publications in the fields of medical education, medical humanities, and clinical immunology in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, Academic Medicine, and Immunology.

Dr. Andrea Gartenbach, Co-Founder and Medical Director of AERA HEALTH - a leading centre for longevity and health optimisation - has 10+ years of experience in Functional Performance and Aging Medicine. She believes in the power of personalised medicine and science, dedicating her career to support people to live longer, healthier lives, introducing high-performance approaches into healthcare.

The formal professional sports athlete is specialised in Internal Medicine and Functional Medicine and she had her medical training in Germany, Switzerland and USA. She developed a passion for cutting-edge health science and is also investor and member of boards of health and health-tech companies.

Dr. Manuel Puntschuh is a specialist in General Internal Medicine with 15 years of experience in clinical practice and the digital health sector. His focus is on innovative diagnostics and data-driven approaches, with a vision to actively drive the shift in medicine from sick-care to health-care. He is passionate about bringing new research and technologies into practice as early as possible.

In his Basel-based practice, he is dedicated to preventive and longevity medicine, continuously integrating the latest innovations to help his clients achieve long-term, optimal health.

Dr. Soheil Saeedi is a pharmacologist specializing in cardiovascular aging and currently serves as the Group Leader and Head of Cardiovascular Aging Lab at University of Zurich. He has previously held senior postdoctoral positions at Harvard Medical School and University of Zurich. His lab explores the interplay between cardiovascular aging and the gut microbiome, aiming to leverage microbiome-based strategies for personalized medicine.

He has authored over 60 publications in top-tier journals, secured multiple research grants, and received several prestigious awards, including the Paul Dudley White International Award from the American Heart Association and the AGLA Walter Riesen Award from the Swiss Atherosclerosis Society.

Dr. Olivia Ly Lesslar is a medical doctor specializing in functional medicine, neurotechnology, and longevity science. She is the Director of Functional and Longevity Medicine at Cingulum Health in Sydney and serves as Chief Medical Advisor for multiple health-tech companies, focusing on neuromodulation, regenerative therapies, and personalized medicine.

With experience spanning Australia, the UK, and the US, she has held academic positions at Griffith University and the Geneva College of Longevity Science. Passionate about space medicine and human optimization, Dr. Lesslar is a Health Span XPrize Team Member and Vice President of the Women in Defence and Space Alliance.

Matilde possesses a strong academic experience as she holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Life Sciences from the University of Zurich. Her research focused on understanding how error during protein synthesis can impact our health and contribute to ageing. She combines her scientific background with a passion for photography, volunteering as a photographer in various events that aim to connect science and society.

Beyond the lens, Matilde feeds her creative side by attending concerts and art exhibitions. She is also dedicated to sports, as she plays basketball semi-professionally and she loves skiing. As an Italian, she, of course, enjoys good food and sees “slow life” as a state of mind.

Nicolas is passionate about nutrition, healthy lifestyle and sustainable consumption. He worked for over 10 years in nursing and has received a MSc in Nutrition and Food Science from University of Bonn.

He used this mix of medical and scientific backgrounds to start as a freelance business consultant in nutrition & health communication as well as nutritional & mental coach. His experiences range from assignments in the nutritional supplement & health industry, for FMCG companies, to leadership and sales trainings as well as to speaking and life cooking events.

Nicolas loves to transform complex contexts from nutritional science into easily understandable and authentic language for everyone. He is absolutely convinced that innovative & personalized nutrition is the major driver of longevity and a happy healthy ageing.

Nicolas enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, is committed to sustainable eating, runs a little oat business, cultivates a vineyard with friends and loves to travel.

Simran holds a Bsc in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Jacobs University Bremen. Originally from Mauritius, she has always been passionate about science and its vital role in shaping society. The scientific writing skills she has gained over the years from working in multiple laboratories and social media teams complement her interest in making science accessible for all. Simran joined Avea motivated by the desire to help her loved ones live a long and healthy life.

As for extracurricular activities, she absolutely loves dancing, spending time with some friends, being out in nature, painting, cooking different types of dishes (perks of being Mauritian), but she insists on sleeping being her favourite activity!

Arastu began his studies at Northwestern University and received a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Flute Performance. He continued his studies at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and received a Master of Music. Fascinated by the intersection between the strong biological underpinnings of neuroscience and the flexible yet abstract features of music, he began exploring the ways music may affect age-related disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and has worked on publications pertaining to molecular neuroscience, music therapy, and circadian rhythmicity. He has previously been a part of the research teams at Weizmann Institute and the Institute for Cell Engineering’s Neuroregeneration Program at Johns Hopkins Medicine and is currently pursuing his neuroscience graduate studies at ETH Zürich in the department of Health Sciences and Technology.

Arastu is passionate about wellness and fitness and loves to explore how aging and longevity can be influenced and improved with an interdisciplinary approach using modern medical sciences and interventions. He enjoys cooking, performing and creating music, and exploring new painters.

Alina holds an MSc in Molecular Nutrition from the University of Vienna. She has worked in various pharmaceutical companies, focusing on the regulatory framework for food supplements, combining her expertise in regulatory affairs and nutrition science. At Avea, she ensures regulatory compliance and supports formulation creation, labelling processes, and strategic decisions. Due to her personal interest in a healthy lifestyle, she is motivated to contribute her professional experience to Avea.

A passionate runner and fitness enthusiast, Alina enjoys trying out new sports and practices mindfulness to relax. She loves spending time with her husband, cats, friends, and family, and is an avid foodie who enjoys cooking and baking.
